Why I have Amy on my team -
Amy has one of the sweetest dispositions and a strong military mama presence that I fell in love with. Amy is my go to for our military families and always has ideas as to how we can better support their postpartum period, as most of them have limited support here. She has a knack for seeing what is behind the questions being asked and is able to answer things in such an empathic way. I have also watched her serve the doula community behind the scenes without being asked and her secret acts of service have not gone unnoticed. Amy thinks she's quietly nerdy(I think that means she's way smarter than me). She loves animals, reading and is always baking something yummy for our gatherings.
San Diego HypnoBirthing
Amy found her passion for birth through the birth of her own three children. Having the experience of both being unsupported and supported during labor drew her attention to the drastic differences between how she felt after the birth and led to pursuing doula work, which opened up a whole new world. Amy is now honored to support women as a DONA certified birth doula, an APPA certified placenta specialist, and a certified HypnoBirthing practitioner. She believes that education is an integral part of helping get families off to a strong start and encouraging them to make the choices they feel are best for their family from the beginning.
"I want families to walk away from my classes knowing that they have a choice in everything. It is their birth and their baby. They get to choose what that experieince is like even when the only thing they can control are the emotions and connection baby feels through the birth." Amy Bailey
