Resources for Nurses...

There are so many resources within our own community. The Center for Natural Birth hosts Natural Birth Movie Nights on the 3rd Monday of each month - these movies are free to the public and are very educational. The midwives are there for any questions that you might have. We have two birth centers in town that you can take tours of and get familiar with how they practice. I run nurse trainings at The Birth Education Center of San Diego a few times a year and we have FREE "Intro to HypnoBirthing" Open Houses at the Center every other month.
There are Red Tent Events periodically (always in September) where women from all over the area share their birth stories in the privacy of the Red Tent- both wonderful birth experiences and the ones that left deep wounds. These events are a must attend for nurses so that you can help these women heal from a past birth or help prevent a wounding outcome at a new birth you attend.

Please download and read Ecstatic Birth - Nature's Hormonal Blueprint for Labor by Sarah Buckley. It is located in the top right corner of the page. Just sign up for her free newsletter and you can download it for free. You will learn why leaving mom alone and skin to skin after birth, facilitate good birthing results for both mom and baby. I would also encourage you to read her book - Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering.
